Selmer Balanced Action Tenor Circa 1936 (Ref 3089) ****SOLD****

Selmer Balanced Action Tenor Circa 1936 (Ref 3089)****SOLD****

Selling on behalf of current owner, who has owned it for the last 9 years, this Selmer Balanced Action Tenor Circa 1936 is a beautiful example from this golden age of Selmer saxophone manufacturing.

Pads and springs are in good condition, the engraving is constant, and it’s in great playing order.

All original pearls, it has been serviced and has a thumbrest modification, by John Clarke Manchester, to make it more comfortable to play. This mod is totally reversable without any damage to the sax and the original pearl thumbrest is concealed underneath; very good solution.

Going over this sax with a really picky hat on will see that there are one or two very minor dents body and neck. In detail, these are one small dent at front of bottom bow, a slight dent LH body by neckstrap eye, a tiny ding LH bow, 2 tiny dents/dings on neck (See images)

The action is really light and smooth and it really is a great sax to look at and play.

Includes: Selmer snakeskin lockable case with key,  thumbrest mod

Viewing and test play highly recommended.
